Josh Womack does a few other bat tricks before a Long Beach Armada game

Outfielder Josh Womack opens up his bag of tricks for the TV cameras in Edmonton to display his out-of-this-world bat tricks before a game between the Long Beach Armada and the Edmonton Capitals. Another video of Womack recently headlined Yahoo.com sparking a great deal of debate over whether or not the tricks were real. This should settle that debate. "They're real, and they're spectacular."

Most of the force …
Most of the force of a bat comes from the leverage of the arms. If the bat is spinning in mid air, it won’t actually do much because the arms aren’t there to maintain leverage. Instead of the shoulders being the fulcrum point, the gravitational center of the bat ends up being the fulcrum. That results in a serious loss in power imparted onto the ball. So really, you’d get better results from bunting.
