I believe that in slow pitch there isn't any.

i start fastpitch softball monday what equipment do i need?heres a list of what im think i need add or take away stuff please:
-equipment bag
-glove
-batting gloves
-cleats
-bat
-helmet(alread have it)
-tennis shoes
-shin guards
-throat protector
-knee pads
-sliding pads
-practice clothes
-sunglasses
-sliding shorts

*any other info or tips appreciated

I don't see many shin guards or knee pads anymore.
The sliding pad should do it.
Nothing wrong with throwing them in the bag, but I doubt you'll need them.
The only thing I see missing is a good water bottle and glove oil.
I typically have that in an outside pocket.
Make sure the bat your using is ASA certified for use. Some have been outlawed because the compression rating is too high. They're trying to decrease the trampoline speed of the ball off the bat. If it's a new bat, you're probably fine. Any good athletic store can tell you.

I'm 15 years old and wanna join my schools softball team,and I've never played before so I have NO CLUE what I would need. Like, I know a glove and stuff, but could you list them with like maybe some good, yet cheap brands too? What are the best brands for each thing? Do I need cleats? Etc. Anything you know would help [=

hi..you will need-
glove- walmart has good and chep ones!
cleats-any ones work..just be sure they feel good on..you dont want a pair ur not gonna like..i always get nike but there usually more expensive..
helmet- the team may have a set..but i like to have my own..sorry i just dont like puttin a sweaty helmet on after someone just wore it..lol walmart has them
batting gloves-so you can get better grip on the bat. walmarrt has them
bat- you dont need one but its sometimes nice to have one that you feel comfortable with..you usually want to go to a sports store to get it..but walmart does have some good ones..ex: jennie finch bat!
sliders- like spandex you wear under your shorts so u dont tare your upper leg up when u slide. usually at sports store. cheap
sliding pad- goes over your leg that you usually slide on more..you can also wear it on both legs..can sometimes fons at walmart..if not sport store.
equipment bag- just so you can throw everything in and go.
duffel bag- if you dont get a bat you can just use a duffle bag!

the most basic is a glove and cleats, but alot of people like sliders, which come in two forms, padded shorts and things that look like soccer shin gaurds, and some people can't hit without their own batting gloves and thier own bat. Usually a coach will provide balls, extra bats, tees, batting helmets, pitching machines, bases, pitching and catching equipment (but people who are serious catchers have their own gear, which is a helmet, chest plate, leg gaurds, and a catcher's glove)
