default 2010 Worth Baseball Bat Reviews

Last year I said that Rawlings is the Rodney Dangerfield of baseball bats and their brother brand, Worth, is the Joe Piscopo of baseball bats. You know he's still doing comedy shows somewhere on earth but you just don't care. For the 2010 model year nothing has changed. Nobody seems to care about Worth bats and it's difficult to even find much information on their bats. Amazingly this is the case on their own web site where they don't tell you which baseball bats are for the 2010 model year! They only talk about their new softball bats. Worth is owned by K2 (the ski company) which also owns the Rawlings and Miken brands. To the best of my knowledge it appears Worth has abandoned composite bats and is exclusively focusing on alloy bats in 2010. On the surface this makes sense as Miken and Rawlings are focused on composite bats. What's amazing is that Worth's 2010 alloy model is priced in the high end of the alloy bat category!

Even Joe Piscopo is scratching his head about this strategy. Shouldn't Worth be K2's discount brand? I'm including Worth's composite bats in my reviews even though they're the same bats they offered in the 2009 model year. They make no mention of any 2010 composite models on their web site. In addition, all there 2009 composite models have drastically reduced prices indicating they are discontinued. Here is what Worth is offering: Worth Composite Bats

  • Titan - Adult only 100% composite, one-piece bat with a balanced design. Worth does not specify whether this, or any of their bats, has a stiff or flex handle. This is the 2009 model and they do not have a 2010 model. The Adult -3 can be found for anywhere between $159 and $329. Clearly this bat is on the discount racks to clear it from their warehouse. Needless to say you should stay away from this bat.

  • Mayhem Comp - Youth only 100% composite, one piece bat with does not specify the handle flex. This bat is the youth version of the 2009 Titan. Like the Titan it's on the discount racks and appears to be discontinued. Stay away from this bat as well.

Worth Alloy Bats

  • Lithium Prodigy/Amp: This actually is a 2010 model. A 100% alloy, one-piece bat with what appears to be a flex handle and balanced design. The name is different for the Adult/Senior and Youth model but it's the same bat. The Adult -3 model retails for $199 which amazingly prices it with the Louisville Omaha and Easton V12. This bat should be priced around the $149. Unless you're playing T-Ball or want to be ridiculed while at the plate I'd go elsewhere for a bat

default Louisville Slugger TPX Triton Baseball Bat Review

Louisville has finally responded to Easton and Demarini's multi-piece bat designs with the Louisville Slugger TPX Triton, a unique 3 piece bat. What I find amazing about this bat is the size of the barrel. This is the largest barrel I've ever seen on a baseball bat. My initial thought is this thing looks like an oak tree!

The unique 3 piece design allows the barrel and the handle to be designed and built as individual units. They are then fused together via what is called the Bubble Transition Zone. Louisville claims this makes the bat function as a more advanced one piece bat (I'll get to this claim in a second). The bat is made of 100% composite material and includes the standard Louisville stiff handle. The Adult -3 model retails for $399 and the Youth -12 at $249.

Aluminum bats are not guaranteed against denting, bending, breaking, worn finishes, or worn rubber grips.

Louisville Slugger TPX Triton Baseball Bat Review

Louisville has long promoted the benefits of the 1 piece design and stiff handle for baseball bats. The success of 2 piece bats from Easton and Demarini has finally forced them to manufacture a multi piece bat. Unfortunately, being stubborn, they won't admit to the general public that their new multi piece bat is actually a multi piece bat! They claim it's "really" a one piece bat that is fused together from 3 pieces. This is insane!!! Louisville's entire marketing department should be fired immediately.

Louisville has to either admit multi-piece bats have merit or stick to a true one piece design, we're not fools. I'm skeptical to purchase a bat for $399 when the manufacturer is telling me little white lies. What's next, saying they've developed a flex handle fused to act like a stiff handle?

Louisville Slugger TPX Triton Baseball Bat Review

Having said all this about their marketing, or lack there of, I will say that I do think the Louisville TPX Triton is a quality bat. That huge barrel makes it very appealing and it seems to hit very well. But I can not recommend it now due to some doubts about the design and its durability. At the present time I recommend the Easton IMX (Stealth or Synergy IMX) or Demarini CF3 in this category.

Once you have a bat in your grasp, the first thing you want to look for is length. Standing with your arms straight down to your sides, check where the knob of the bat is. It should be lined up with the crease between your wrist and your hand. You likely need a longer bat if the knob is at your palm level. You want a shorter bat if the knob is at your forearm. Just because you're looking to buy discount softball bats does not mean you should sacrifice comfort, your talent level, or your chance for improvement.

Then get a sense for the weight of the bat. Remember, it should feel like the heaviest hunk of wood that you can swing without losing swing velocity or swing mechanics, or knocking yourself out. It may be a matter of ounces

Learning the Basics of Softball Pitching

default Learning the Basics of Softball Pitching

Softball pitching is one of toughest job any player could face. It is a skill that requires you to be critical in thinking while keeping yourself in track inside the diamond. Remember, a good hitter won’t able to beat a good pitcher. That is why learning the ropes of proper pitching the ball needs proper training.

Pitching in slow-pitch softball requires a different pitching style in a fast-pitch softball. It is a must that one should differentiate which type of softball you are going to join so that you would know which among the two below will best suit your needs.

ebook cover Learning the Basics of Softball PitchingA fast-pitch softball requires your athleticism, stamina, dedication and calculated thinking. Even if you fail among those characteristics, just follow the simple tips and it will bring you success. This is for the fast-pitch softball player:

If you are right-handed person, hold the ball by using all your fingers, except for the thumb, on a straight seam while your thumb will clutch on the straight seam of the ball at the opposite side. Make sure that you should leave spaces between your palm and the ball. Place your feet properly on the pitching mound and your hips should be square to the home plate. Put your weight on the left foot while you are positioning your hands to ready for the pitch. Extend your right arm past your hips and bring your left arm to your chest, while putting your weight in your right foot. Simultaneously with your feet movements, keep your arms straight. The left –gloved hand should be eyelevel and the ball hand should continue its circling up until it is extended towards the sky. With your “open” hips facing the home plate, release the ball while your gloved-hand reaches your side. Do not “close” your hips until the ball was released. End your pitch by bending your knees and your gloved-hand is ready to field just in case the ball is hit. Reverse the place of your hand if you are left-handed.

The slow-pitch softball is almost the same with the fast-pitch softball, except for some minor changes. Use a circle grip in holding the ball, by placing your hands around it. Begin your pitching motion by putting the right hand inside the glove or just in front of you. Position your feet in a way that you would be able to maintain your balance and provide enough power in pitching the ball. Step forward and move your ball hand like a swinging pendulum. Let go of the ball when it is in your waist level. Get into the fielding stance because the ball may be hit right back at you.

The key to being a good pitcher is by a constant practice. Practice makes perfect! Maintain your focus on the game and be relaxed. The ball might be spinning for your victory.

default Dont Buy a Slow Pitch Softball Bat This Season Until You Read This Review

Do you ever wonder why the other teams 9 hitter can hit the ball a mile farther then your 3 hitter? The secret is all in the bat. If you come up to the plate with a 100 dollar bat then you might as well go right to the parking lot and crack open a few beers cause it's already over. Here are a few reasons why you need to invest in the best ASA softball bat.

Inferior Softball Bats mean warning track power. Inferior bats mean more pop ups. So if you wanna fly out to left field EVERYTIME then by all means go to Sports Authority and pick up that cheap Easton or Louisville for slightly under a hundred bucks. This way you can let the other team have some outfield practice instead of playing a real game.

Bats With Pop Allow You To Stretch The Field! When you have the best ASA softball bat you threaten to beat the outfielders deep. This allows you to drop in those little cheap bloops and have innings that last for hours. Once you establish you can't hit the ball more then 250 feet you shrink the field. Once that happens, it's over unless Jenny Finch is on the hill.
